The Metro West Fire Protection District is committed to working with our partners in the media to disseminate accurate, timely, and lifesaving information. We make provisions at many emergency scenes to deliver information while the event is developing so that residents are informed about the situation or emergency incident.
We also provide occasional “media academies” that afford journalists and media professionals real-life experiences in a controlled environment. These media academies allow the media participants to enter a burning structure, use the jaws-of-life, and raise over 100 feet in the air in a aerial ladder truck with Metro
West Firefighters.
We are planning another academy in the fall of 2010. If you are a local media representative and you are interested in being placed on our notification list for this exciting and informative experience please click here and fill out the simple form.
